Repeat prescriptions

Electronic prescriptions service (EPS)

If you get regular prescriptions or are already using a prescription collection service (where a pharmacy collects prescriptions from your GP practice for you) then choosing a pharmacy to dispense all your prescriptions may save you time by avoiding unnecessary trips to your GP.

Contact your local pharmacy to order your prescriptions that will then be sent electronically to the pharmacy of your choice.

Go to the NHS website for further information

To order a repeat prescription

Your prescription will be sent electronically to your pharmacy, 2 working days after your order has been received from your chosen pharmacy. Contact your pharmacy to order a repeat prescription if you have less than 7 days of medication remaining.

We can also post your prescription to you if you provide us with a stamped, addressed envelope.

Find out more about registering for online services.

Medication reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor or practice pharmacist once or twice a year to review your regular medications. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.

Acute Prescriptions

Acute prescriptions are generated electronically for your chosen chemist while you are in consultation with the doctor who feels you require medication. This medication is available without delay when you go to your chemist.
